Description
Abruzzo and Trebbiano are a winning combination, a superb expression of Italy’s wine heritage. But when we pair the words ‘Trebbiano’ and ‘Abruzzo’ with ‘Valentini’, the result is excellence worthy of a frame.
The Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, created, directed and produced by Francesco Paolo Valentini (owner of the winery of the same name), is a wine that never ceases to amaze.
The history of the Valentini farm and winery, which in 2012 was awarded the prestigious title of producer of the best Italian wine, serves to demonstrate that Italy’s future has an ancient heart: one embodied by its ancient and rich culinary and wine-making tradition.
The company is based in Loreto Aprutino, a small town in Abruzzo situated in the hills of the Pescara hinterland. It is a typical Italian medieval village, perched high up and nestled within a natural landscape that attracts many tourists.
The winery, one of the oldest in Italy and Europe (its origins date back as far as 1650 and it has remained in the same family ever since), is run by Francesco Paolo Valentini. Francesco’s father, Edoardo, was one of the pioneers of Italian viticulture; his great-grandfather, on the other hand, was a musician, composer and conductor, and a friend and collaborator of Arturo Toscanini.
