Description

It is the jewel in the crown of Italian oenology, the cornerstone for the excellence established thereafter
later and the keystone of the area’s oenological renaissance. It was born from the ingenuity of Mario Incisa della Rocchetta who, as early as the 1920s, dreamed of creating a thoroughbred wine, purebred like the horses he owned at the time in his own stables. He thus decided to plant Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc on the San Guido estate, because of the similarity he had noticed between these soils and the Bordeaux area: stony, stony soils, just like a “Sassicaia.” The Sassicaia Tenuta San Guido, thanks in part to the valuable contribution of winemaker Giacomo Tachis, has become the symbol of a wine production of the highest quality, known and appreciated all over the world, a symbol cultural as the hand of the master of Italian oenology who caressed it for a long time. It will exalt all grand occasions and sumptuous dinners, it loves time and does not fear it, in fact it it best expresses the history it holds with aging. It is a masterpiece of the land impervious of Bolgheri, unique and with wide evolutions; it is even the only one to have a disciplinary of appellation reserved.
